Standard Features for ALL Simple Step Boards

All Simple Step® Stepper Motion Controller Boards comes with the following features for the complete product line.

  • Single Voltage Operation (as low as 7.0VDC to as much as 50.0VDC).
  • Translator/Indexer and Driver all on one board (except the Gecko series which can be either Bipolar or DC Servo).
  • Bipolar stepper motion control for all boards except the Gecko series (Bipolar or DC Servo)
  • Serial Network System with address switches (either Simple Step® RS232 Network or RS422/485). (SSNEMA17 has only RS422/485)
  • Each axis has its own 30MHz microprocessor (58.9MHz for the ARM7 microprocessor )
  • Each axis has separately adjustable Software or Hardware current limiting.
  • Each axis has a dedicated Home (infrared with on board current limiting to 20ma@5VDC) and Limit (microswitch) Input.
  • Each axis has Software Controlled I/O for general use (1-4 TTL I/O Lines).
  • Each axis has 0.5 amp, diode clamped MOSFET output that is software controlled. (Not available for the SSNEMA17)
  • All Boards run in a simple ASCII command mode.
  • All Boards have a Power LED.
  • All Boards come with a 5VDC switcher that is 85% efficient. (SSNEMA17 has 3.3VDC and 1.8VDC LDO regulator)
  • Every purchase comes with  Simple Step® for Windows Software FREE.
  • Every purchase comes with the Simple Step® ActiveX control FREE.
  • All Boards can have the baud rate changed from 9.6K to 115.2K after power up is complete.
  • All Stepper Motion Controller Boards have a minimum software selection of Half and Full Step modes.
  • All Microstepping Motion Controller Boards can run to 1/16 of a step (except for the 77 which has Microstepping to 1/8 step).
  • All Motion Controller Boards have software selectable Idle power mode.
  • All Boards have a speed range from 1 sps (steps per second) to 15,000 sps in an S curve format (all units now have the prescaler option installed which allows sub-sps speeds).
  • All Boards have a unique new Linear Motion Algorithm with the ability to software select between the old motion system and the new one.
  • Minimum 400 character IEEPROM on ALL units with optional 2-16K IEEPROM.
  • All units now have a Joystick Input via the TTL I/O lines.
